Leadership In Times Of Crisis

Jul 15, 2020

As a leadership professor, who has been teaching leadership communication strategies at UCLA Extension since 2012, I have two insights I would love to share with you, when it comes to leadership in times of crisis:

1) Emotional Intelligence:

Courage. Hope. Resilience.

These qualities are what you need the most these days as a leader.

Courage means speaking up for yourself and others. It's your ability to do what's uncomfortable and uncertain.

Your level of Emotional Intelligence is going to determine the level of positive thinking you'll be able to spread as a leader.

2) Future Vision:

Vision is your ability to see what others can't. Your anticipation for the future and the way you think will impact you, your family, friends, loved ones, team, your clients, your community and the whole world that makes you YOU.

Hope this helps.

Stay courageous. Stay visionary.
